Academic Culture of the Imperial Moscow University, when Student Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinskiĭ Studied thereAbstract: The article examines the features of the academic culture of the Imperial Moscow University, when K. D. Ushinskiĭ studied there. He is the founder of scientific pedagogy in Russia. Having received a law degree at the university, he showed himself to be a talented reformer of Russian education. Analysis the biography of K. D. Ushinskiĭ during his studies at the university allows us to under-stand the conditions for the formation of his scientific worldview. In 1840–1844. at the Imperial Moscow University K. D. Ushinsky was given lectures by teachers who went through different paths to obtaining a professorship (professors S. I. Barshev, T. N. Granovskiĭ, I. I. Davydov, N. I. Krylov, D. L. Kryukov, A. K. Moroshkin, P. G. Redkin, et al.). Each of the professors was a bright personality with his own unique life experience. Having received a high level of university Russian and European education, they demonstrated to students their devotion to the profession of university teachers and love of science, while simultaneously performing civic duties, most often as inspectors of private educational institutions. The academic culture of the Imperial Moscow Uni-versity in the early 40s of the 19th century, operating on the basis of the University Charter of July 26, 1835, was the result of the joint activities of the rector and professors of the university. The older generation of professors went through the experience of the War of 1812, the younger pro-fessors were familiar with famous people of the era – N. V. Gogol, N. I. Lobachevskiĭ, N. I. Pi-rogov and others. The university became the place of formation of K. D. Ushinskiĭ as a scientist with boundless faith in science and with a pronounced Christian position, whose spiritual forces were directed throughout his life to serving future generations and the fatherland. This article repre-sents a small contribution to the understanding of the formation of Ushinskiĭ’s personality during the period of his university education.
