Immersion in Contemporary Rituals of GrievingAbstract: The article is a continuation of the work "Emotional modes and practices of immersion in grieving rituals from antiquity to the present." In this article, the phenomenon of grieving is considered in the context of modern rituals, funeral practices and emotional regimes. Ritual and ceremonial practices of grieving are presented as immersive, being deeply emotional and physical actions, since they are vivid in their manifestation. Modern grieving practices are considered in connection with the period of digitalization of funeral culture. All this makes it possible to establish a relationship between the phenomenon of death as a category of the immersive, and the emotional modes inherent in the human psyche.
Research shows that with the development of technology and the expansion of the digital space, people face new challenges in understanding and expressing their emotions during the grieving process. Sending condolences and expressing emotional support through digital platforms is becoming an increasingly common practice. This affects traditional grieving rituals, presenting new opportunities and raising questions about preserving and changing the values associated with saying goodbye to the departed.
Key words: death, grief, loss, funeral ritual, memorial ritual, mourning, emotional regime, immersion practices, digitalization, digital cemetery, neural networks, inhuman death.
