Italian Studies: Architectonics and Architecture

Abstract: The article opens a series of publications by Russian and Italian authors devoted to the study of architectonics, architecture and philosophy of culture in Italy. The thematic issue of the journal "Italian Studies: Architectonics and Architecture" is devoted to topological and architectural reflection on the themes of Italian culture, considered primarily through its cultural landscape. The methods of studying the architectonics of Italian culture are diverse: from cultural and historical analysis to heterotopological reflection and atmospheric science. The architectonic picture of the world presupposes, among other things, the clarification of the deep movements of culture, considered in a new interdisciplinary research optics, determined by an ethical and aesthetic turn to thinking about intertemporal connections and responsibility to future generations for the images we have left. The analysis focuses on the study of architectonic discourse for modern Italian theory and philosophy of culture and philosophy of architecture. “Architectonics” in the 21st century is used as a multi-valued philosophical and general scientific category, the scope of which is constantly expanding with the emergence of entities of a new order. Using the concept of archaeological knowledge developed by Michel Foucault, we will try to demonstrate that architectonics is not so much the ordering of space as the immaterial building of representation and the consequence of a certain way of creation associated with the perception of a locus.

Key words: Architecture; architectonics; theory of culture; philosophy of architecture; architectonic discourse; architectonic paradigm; Italian studies; Italian architecture of the XX century.
