Evolution of the Image of a Movie’s Hero in the Domestic Cinematograph of the XX CenturyAbstract: The process of formation of a movie hero, like any cultural phenomenon, is al-ways historically prepared and takes place without separation from the processes of socio-cultural environment that generates it. Even a private and independent, at first glance, phenomenon is always a reflection of a dominant picture of the world or a reaction on it, which seems to be true for the image of the movie hero.
The article presents the author's typology of the heroes of the national cinema-tography of the XX century, and also reveals the mechanism of determination of ax-iological component of the movie hero and the cultural and historical context of the country. The 20th century in history of the country is divided by the authors into 6 periods: the pre-revolutionary period, the October Revolution and the first Soviet decades, the Second World War and the post-war years, the Khrushchev thaw, Pere-stroika, and the post-Soviet period of the 1990s. Each of the periods generates its own cultural and historical type of movie hero, which becomes an objectified na-tional identity and the code of the era.
The movie hero accumulates the values of the country in the content historical period, thereby becoming a sign of the times. What he strives for, what he dreams about and with whom he fights, reveals not only his value component, but also the collective axiological attitudes of the era. Thus, the movie hero is the quintessence of public sentiments, desires, fears, and traumatic events of national scale.
Key words: film hero, screen hero, cinematic anthropology, national identity, Russian cinema-tography, Soviet cinematography, pre-Revolutionary cinematography, cinematog-raphy of the Great Patriotic War, cinematograph of the thaw, cinematography of pe-restroika, post-Soviet cinematography, cinematography of the nineties.
