Notes about Affect in the E. Kharitonov’s Theory of PantomimeAbstract: The article is devoted to the consideration of some elements of the concept of pantomime by the researcher and uncensored writer Yevgeny Kharitonov (1941–1981), set out in his Ph.D. thesis “Pantomime in training a film actor” (1972). Unlike other works on pantomime that came out in the 1960s and 80s, Kharitonov's research is less known, since it was not intended for the general reader and was never published as a separate book. Based on the structural-semiotic method, Kharitonov proposed an original concept of pantomime, in which the problem of affect came to the fore. But the specificity of Kharitonov's approach shifted the perception of sign / gestural / affective problems towards greater psychologization, which, from the point of view of today's cultural theory, is associated with the study of emotionality. Turning to the theoretical constructions of Brian Massumi, Stephen Shaviro, Mark Hensen and Oleg Aronson, who continue to consider affect in the Deleuisian way, allows us to actualize its impersonal character, allowing us to speak more about relationships than about emotions.
Key words: uncensored art, gesture, Evgeny Kharitonov, pantomime, affect, Brian Massumi.
